Indians' Hagadone leaves rehab outing early with elbow pain
Indians reliever Nick Hagadone left Wednesday night's minor-league rehab appearance early due to discomfort in his pitching elbow, according to MLB.com.
Hagadone, who is working his way back from a lower back strain, was pitching in his first rehab game for Class-A Mahoning Valley when he felt the discomfort after recording only one out.
The Indians are expected to give an update on Hagadone's status once he undergoes a full evaluation.
The 29-year-old left-hander has been on the disabled list July 8. Before he was sidelined with the back injury, Hagadone had posted a 4.28 ERA with 28 strikeouts and 12 walks in 27 1/3 innings (36 appearances) for the Indians this season.
Hagadone underwent reconstructive surgery on his throwing elbow in 2008 as a minor leaguer with the Red Sox organization, but he has not experienced elbow problems during his time in Cleveland.
