Rockies first baseman Todd Helton is out of the starting lineup again against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night because of back spasms.
Manager Jim Tracy says Helton may be available to pinch hit. The slugger hadn't yet taken batting practice or worked out in the field and is out of the lineup for the third straight game. Ty Wigginton replaced him at first base.
Helton has had back issues in the past, including one that lingered much of last season. He's hitting .323 with six homers and 20 RBIs in 37 games this year.
Left fielder Carlos Gonzalez (groin) returned to the lineup after pinch hitting the night before in Colorado's 7-6 loss in 14 innings.
