Harrison: 'I don't want to be on the bad side of history'

Whether they like it or not, the Pittsburgh Pirates are now a part of history.

The Pirates certainly tried to avoid history on Sunday afternoon, but when Max Scherzer notched his no-hitter, the link was forever cemented.

"I don't know what part of history you want to be on, but I don't want to be on the bad side of history," Josh Harrison said to Pirates.com. "Congrats to him. But I don't think anybody in here is going, 'Oh, it's cool to be part of a no-hitter.'"

While the Pirates would have preferred to have gotten a hit – or even better, won the game – Pirates manager Clint Hurdle was able to take a step back and appreciate the piece of baseball history that he witnessed.

"I think you need to find it in your baseball heart to appreciate the performance," Hurdle said.
