Granderson, Melancon take part in MLB world camps
Curtis Granderson, Mark Melancon and LaTroy Hawkins are among several big leaguers who will take part in camps and clinics around the world this offseason.
Major League Baseball and the players' union are supporting the program.
Granderson, Roger Bernadina and Chris Dickerson will travel to France and the Netherlands in November as part of a European tour.
In December, Jeremy Guthrie is going to China and Melancon will be in South Africa. Yan Gomes, the first Brazilian-born player in the majors, will promote baseball in his country the same month. Hawkins will be a pitching instructor at a camp in Brazil next February.
Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis and Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin will go to Australia before next season's regular-season opener, a two-game series in March between Los Angeles and Arizona in Sydney. Arizona star Paul Goldschmidt recently visited the site where the games will be played.
