This wasn't the first gnome giveaway ever. It certainly won't be the last. But for some reason, this Buck Showalter gnome captivated the entire city of Baltimore.
There was a large social media build up to revealing the gnome, with the Baltimore Orioles showcasing the hashtag #SHOWtheGnome. It all came to a head on Sunday.
It started with lines around the block:
