LOS ANGELES (AP) Matt Moore of the San Francisco Giants is pitching a no-hitter through seven innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Moore had thrown 95 pitches Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, striking out five and walking two. The Giants led 4-0.

Speedy Giants center fielder Denard Span made the defensive play of the game in the second inning, racing far into the left-center field gap for an outstanding catch on a slicing drive by Adrian Gonzalez.

Moore is seeking his first win since being traded from Tampa Bay to the Giants earlier this month. The 27-year-old lefty was 0-3 in his first four starts for San Francisco.

The Giants began the day three games behind the NL West-leading Dodgers.
