Relief pitcher Mike Adams and the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Adams was 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 22 games last season with the Philadelphia Phillies, who declined his $6 million club option for 2015. The right-hander missed extensive time with a shoulder injury, but struck out 21 in 18 2/3 innings.

Once an elite setup man in San Diego, the 36-year-old Adams is 21-20 with a 2.41 ERA and four saves in 408 major-league games over 10 seasons. He has also pitched for Milwaukee and Texas.

Adams' deal with the Dodgers was announced Sunday.
