SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) Right-hander Phillip Humber, who pitched a perfect game in 2012, was among four players the San Diego Padres assigned to minor league camp on Monday.
Humber had a 4.35 ERA in 10 1/3 innings over six games in spring training for the Padres.
The 34-year-old Humber hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013, when he went 0-8 with a 7.90 ERA for Houston. The year before that, he was with the Chicago White Sox when he threw a perfect game at Seattle.
The Padres also assigned catcher Rocky Gale and righties Jose Dominguez and Daniel McCutchen to the minors.
