Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez was concentrating hard on the task at hand: preparing to hit the 90-plus mph pitch coming his way from Colorado Rockies pitcher Eddie Butler.

And then some fireworks went off

Whoever had the bright idea or made the ridiculous mistake to set off fireworks in the middle of an at-bat is probably getting a talk to right now.

For Gomez, he looked pretty calm after the entire situation, though, it sure does look like the home plate ump was ready to bolt, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. It makes me wonder if he’s ever heard a car backfire while taking an evening stroll. You know, the time you hit the ground thinking gunshots were going off.

No? Okay.

Then again, the dude in charge of the fireworks could have very well been sending a message to former MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, who was in attendance.
