Excited Rangers fans lining up for tickets
Scores of giddy Texas Rangers fans lined up early Wednesday to buy tickets to the team's first American League Championship Series - but at least one couldn't wait that long.
John O'Hara got to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington at 10 p.m. Tuesday, just after the team beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
"I've been camping out all night to get some tickets," the first-year fan said. "I'm going to both games 1 and 2."
The Rangers open their series with the New York Yankees on Friday night in Arlington. The ticket office opened at 9 a.m., but online sales were possible before that.
A box office representative said games 1, 2 and 6 were all but sold out. Tickets can still be had to game 7 on Oct. 23, if it's necessary.
Lorenzo Avila of Arlington said he's been going to Rangers games for 16 years and used to be able to sit wherever he wanted.
"It's almost hard to believe" the Rangers won, he said. "You get used to them losing."
