Ethier in for Victorino on All-Star team

Published Jul. 8, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier will replace the injured Shane Victorino on the NL All-Star team.

Ethier, who had a 30-game hitting streak earlier this season, finished second to the Phillies outfielder in online fan voting for the last player added to the team. Victorino is on the disabled list because of a strained thumb ligament and ineligible for Tuesday's game in Phoenix.

Ethier, who started for the NL in last year's game, is hitting .313 with seven home runs and 42 RBIs.

His streak is the longest in baseball this season.
