Dodgers recall Schlichting, option Elbert

Published May. 31, 2010 1:05 a.m. ET

Right-hander Travis Schlichting was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday and the team returned left-hander Scott Elbert to the Isotopes three days after bringing him up.

Schlichting was 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA in 31 1-3 innings at Albuquerque. He had a 16-game stint with the Dodgers last season, allowing two runs (one earned) in 2 2-3 innings in two appearances.

Elbert was called up to add another lefty to the bullpen but he had a rough outing Saturday in his only appearance, giving up a run on one hit and three walks in 2-3 inning during an 11-3 loss to the Rockies.
