Dodgers' Kershaw comes out of 'Twitter hibernation' to thank fans

Dodgers ace and reigning NL Cy Young-winner and MVP Clayton Kershaw did not garner enough support to win MLB’s “Final Vote” for the All-Star Game. As has been the case whenever Kershaw fell short of accomplishing something over the past couple of seasons, there was a Cardinal standing in his way. Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez won the Final Vote.

While Kershaw may have started the season off slowly, he’s rebounded nicely posting a 1.53 ERA over his past nine starts, capped by a complete game, 13-K shutout on Wednesday. According to the Orange County Register, Kershaw admitted being disappointed. He said:

"You always want to get to the All-Star Game...There's a little disappointment there."

Kershaw was so moved by the fan support throughout the campaign that tweeted for the first time in three months to thank them.
