Dodgers, Guerrier close to deal

December 15, 2010

The Dodgers, continuing their off-season spending, are close to signing free-agent right-hander Matt Guerrier to a three-year, $12 million contract, according to major-league sources.

Guerrier will help fortify the team's bullpen after spending the last seven seasons in Minnesota, amassing 472 innings and a 3.38 ERA.

The team earlier addressed its rotation by signing lefty Ted Lilly and free-agent righties Hiroki Kuroda and Jon Garland.

They also added free-agent infielder Juan Uribe.

Free agent Bill Hall remains on the Dodgers' radar to be the club's everyday left fielder. Hall also is drawing interest from the Yankees, who would use him in a super-utility role.
