Andre Ethier appears headed for right knee surgery, though the Dodgers will seek one more opinion before scheduling the procedure.
Los Angeles shut down the outfielder for the year Thursday, when he met with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. The team will attain a third opinion from knee specialist Dr. J. Richard Steadman of Vail, Colo.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Yocum's recommendation for surgery reflects the view of the team physician, Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
Ethier, who had a 30-game hitting streak and batted .292 with 11 home runs and 62 RBIs, has said he plans to be ready for spring training.

Ethier's 30-game streak was the second-longest in Dodgers history and the second-longest in the majors this season.
