LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis has undergone a cleanup procedure on his left knee and is expected to be out four to six weeks.

Ellis had a 20-minute arthroscopic surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Tuesday to clean up the medial meniscus on his knee. He's expected to begin rehabilitation on Wednesday.

The Dodgers will make a roster move before Tuesday night's interleague game against Detroit.
