LOS ANGELES (AP) The Dodgers have selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Jharel Cotton and Ross Stripling, adding them to the 40-man roster.

Cotton was 6-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 21 games at four minor league levels last season. His greatest success came at Double-A Tulsa, where he was 5-2 with a 2.30 ERA in 11 games. The 23-year-old was chosen by Los Angeles in the 20th round of the 2012 draft.

Stripling was a non-roster invitee to spring training in 2014 before having season-ending elbow surgery. The 25-year-old was 3-6 with a 3.66 ERA in 14 starts for Double-A Tulsa and Class A Great Lakes. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.

The moves announced Friday leave the Dodgers with 39 players on their 40-man roster.
