LOS ANGELES (AP) The Dodgers have activated right fielder Yasiel Puig from the 15-day disabled list after he missed 38 games because of a left hamstring strain.

To make room for the Cuban star Los Angeles optioned outfielder Scott Schebler to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Puig last played on April 24 and was batting .279 with two homers and four RBIs when he was hurt. He made two rehab appearances with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga on May 7-8 before reinjuring his hamstring. He resumed his assignment with the Quakes on Thursday, going 3 for 7 with a double and a home run in two games in right field.

Two-time All-Star Andre Ethier batted .285 with six homers and 19 RBIs starting in Puig's place. The Dodgers went 20-17 in his absence.
