Did Robin Ventura hint at more White Sox moves?
The Chicago White Sox have acquired Todd Frazier and Brett Lawrie this offseason, but they may not be done there.
In a conference call Thursday, White Sox manager Robin Ventura sounded like the team wasn't finished building their roster. Via ESPN Chicago:
“[Frazier and Jose Abreu will] probably be batting right next to each other, but there is still time to figure that out. Again, you’re looking at what we have right now. They’ll be batting next to each other probably, but if there is something else that comes up and we need to adjust and move it around, we can do that. In the middle of December, I just like the fact that they’ll be in the lineup together.”
With so many free agents bats still available (Chris Davis, Yoenis Cespedes, Alex Gordon, Justin Upton), Ventura's comments are certainly intriguing.
Before arbitration, the Sox have a payroll of just under $104 million.
