Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera hanging on to lead in All-Star voting
Major League Baseball released the final All-Star balloting update on Monday and if things stand pat, only one Tigers player will be named a starter.
Miguel Cabrera remains the leading vote-getter for AL first basemen, with nearly 11.6 million votes. Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer is still holding his ground in second place, with more than 9.1 million votes.
With a lead of nearly 2.5 million votes, you'd think Cabrera is a lock for the top spot. But voters have until midnight Thursday to cast their ballots. So far, over 500 million votes have been cast.

Yoenis Cespedes could still has time to claim a spot -- he is currently fourth among outfielders with 7.5 million votes. He trails Alex Gordon of Kansas City by approximately 1.4 million votes.
Even if Cespedes isn't on the starting squad, there's a good chance he'll make the team as a reserve and try to defend his two-time Home Run Derby title.
While Jose Iglesias is second among shortstops, he trails Alcides Escobar by more than 2.5 million votes, which is probably more ground than he'll be able to make up.
The starters for both the American League and National League teams will be announced at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
