Cubs reinstate Schlitter, option to Triple-A Iowa

CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Cubs reinstated right-hander Brian Schlitter from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.

Schlitter went on the disabled list on Aug. 9 with right shoulder inflammation. He is 2-3 with a 3.47 ERA in 53 games this season. He gave up one run and one hit in one inning during a rehab assignment on Saturday at Iowa.
