Cubs' Navarro, Neal leave game

Published Aug. 7, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Chicago Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro and left fielder Thomas Neal both left in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game against the Phillies with injuries.

Neal left first when he appeared to hurt his right arm trying to throw out John Mayberry Jr. at second base. Neal instantly grabbed his throwing arm and was down for several minutes before he walked off the field. Junior Lake moved to left and David DeJesus came into the game to play center.

Navarro was hurt when Chase Utley collided with him on a play at the plate. Utley, who was thrown out trying to score the tying run, banged knees with Navarro on the play. Navarro was tended to by trainers and carted off the field. Wellington Castillo took over behind the plate.

According to the Chicago Tribune, X-rays on Navarro's ankle were negative. He is listed as day to day. Meanwhile, Neal suffered a dislocated shoulder.
