Cruz out with apparent leg injury
Rangers slugger Nelson Cruz left Sunday night's game because of a strained left hamstring.
Cruz, who has had a history of hamstring problems, will be re-evaluated Monday, an off day for the Rangers.
When asked if he was optimistic about Cruz, Manager Ron Washington responded, ''He's got a hamstring, so you know what that means: time.''
Cruz got hurt when running out a double in the sixth inning against the Los Angeles Angels. Cruz was reaching to the back of his left leg by time he got to second base.
Washington immediately came out of the dugout, and Cruz was already walking that way before the manager even got to him.
Cruz missed 51 games last year because of three separate stints on the disabled list with issues to both hamstrings. He was on the DL for 17 games earlier this season because of a strained right quadriceps muscle.
