Cruz activated from DL

Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Juan Cruz has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.

The move was made before Tuesday night's game against Toronto.

To make room on the roster for the reliever, right-hander Mike Ekstrom was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

Also, Rays executive vice president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman was at the ballpark, three days after having an appendectomy.
