Published Jul. 21, 2015 2:41 p.m. ET

Second baseman Chase Utley was named the Philadelphia Phillies' 2015 Heart & Hustle Award recipient on Tuesday morning.

The award, which is voted on by former players, is given out by the MLB Players Association to "honor active players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game."

Each of MLB's 30 clubs have a team recipient of the award, and more voting will take place to determine an overall winner of the award for the entire sport.

Utley, who has won the award for the sixth time in his career, has yet to win the overall award. Roy Halladay was last and only Phillies player to win the overall in 2010.
