CHICAGO (AP) St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday has left in the 10th inning against the Chicago Cubs after getting hit on the right hand by a pitch.

Reliever Mike Montgomery plunked the seven-time All-Star with a 94 mph fastball on a 1-1 count with two outs and nobody on in a 3-3 game Thursday night. Holliday immediately grabbed his right arm. He was attended to and walked to first base accompanied by the trainer before leaving the field.

Jeremy Hazelbaker pinch-ran for Holliday, who had singled and scored in the first inning.
