Bryant returns to Cubs' lineup

Published Aug. 3, 2015 10:16 p.m. ET

PITTSBURGH (AP) Rookie third baseman Kris Bryant was back in the Chicago Cubs' lineup on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates, a day after leaving a win at Milwaukee when he felt woozy following a headfirst slide into second base.

Bryant passed all of the necessary concussions tests Monday. On Sunday, Bryant's head struck Brewers shortstop Jean Segura's leg when he slid into second base in the fifth inning.

''I feel a little bit better,'' Bryant said. ''I only have one head. I only have one life. There's nothing really to joke about with that, so we're taking it really serious.''

Bryant is hitting .246 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs in 95 games.
