Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Rymer Liriano was taken off the field on a cart and transported to a local hospital Sunday after being hit in the face with a fastball from Dodgers pitcher Matt West. Liriano was unable to duck his head in time, and the ball missed his helmet and caused "multiple facial fractures," according to the Brewers.

A number of Liriano's Brewers teammates and friends asked fans to pray for his health.

West told the Los Angeles Daily News that he has not reached out to Liriano yet, but apologized to a Brewers coach on the field.
