Brewers SS Alex Gonzalez leaves with injury
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Alex Gonzalez left Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants after injuring his right knee on a steal attempt in the second inning.
Gonzalez's right leg buckled as he slid in safely at second base. He immediately called for the trainer and had to be helped off the field. The Brewers say he will undergo an MRI.
This marks the fourth straight game the Brewers had a player leave early with an injury. First baseman Mat Gamel tore his right ACL on Tuesday at San Diego, outfielder Ryan Braun left early Wednesday with a sore right Achilles that sidelined him for one game and outfielder Carlos Gomez left Friday's game with a strained left hamstring that is expected to put him on the disabled list.
Gonzalez is batting .259 with four homers and 15 RBIs.
