Brewers' Davis out with strained left shoulder
TORONTO (AP) Brewers outfielder Khris Davis is sitting out Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays with a strained left shoulder but is expected to return to the lineup for Friday's game at Cincinnati.
The Brewers are off Thursday.
Davis left Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays in the seventh inning after aggravating his shoulder and pectoral muscle sliding into second on a stolen base. He's batting .260 with a team-high 14 home runs and 44 RBIs.
Elian Herrera started in place of Davis, who said his shoulder was feeling better after icing, stretching and massage.
Jeff Biachi made his first start of the season at second base Wednesday as Scooter Gennett got the day off and Rickie Weeks served as designated hitter. Jonathan Lucroy started at first base and Martin Maldonado was the catcher.
