ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Braves have signed outfielder Braxton Davidson, the team's first-round pick in last week's draft.

Davidson, from TC Roberson High School in Arden, North Carolina, was the No. 32 overall selection in the draft.

The 17-year-old Davidson (6-3, 205) was regarded as one of the top power-hitting prospects in the draft. He turns 18 on Wednesday.

Davidson, a left-handed hitter, hit three home runs, including two in one game, during the Tournament of Stars showcase last summer. He also played first base but says he will be a corner outfielder with the Braves.
