You're never going to believe this, but people don't trust Ryan Braun.
That's according to a poll by ESPN'S Darren Rovell.
That poll shows that Braun — who has been suspended by Major League Baseball — ranks among the least-trusted celebrities among a database that includes nearly 3,000 of them.
"When someone doesn't play it straight, they get brutalized," Paul Smith, Repucom's CEO told Rovell. "Ryan can't fall much further. Even Tiger didn't fall down this low."
According to Repucom, only eight athletes are regarded by Americans as less trustworthy than Braun, and it's notorious company. They are:
Marion Jones
John Daly
Manny Ramirez
Lance Armstrong
Michael Vick
Metta World Peace
Pete Rose
Dennis Rodman
Braun's biggest issue from a public-trust standpoint, Smith said, was not that he got suspended for using performance-enhancing drugs, but that he repeatedly insisted he hadn't used them and publicly attacked the reputation of the doctor who collected the urine samples.
"Ryan really dug a hole for himself," Smith said.
