Blue Jays recall infielder Ryan Goins

TORONTO (AP) The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled infielder Ryan Goins from triple-A Buffalo and designated right-handed pitcher Todd Redmond for assignment.

Goins played in six games for Buffalo this season and batted .350 with a double and three RBIs. This spring the left-handed hitter produced a .315 average in 28 games with five doubles, a triple, two home runs and seven RBIs.

The 29-year-old Redmond has appeared in two games with the Blue Jays this season and posted a 16.62 ERA.
