Blue Jays LHP Tallet activated from 15-day DL

The Blue Jays activated left-hander Brian Tallet off the 15-day disabled list Monday, some 10 weeks after he hurt his right ribcage with a hard sneeze.

Tallet pitched through soreness for about a week before going on the disabled list with the St. Louis Cardinals in early July. He was traded to Toronto on July 27 in the deal that also sent outfielder Colby Rasmus to the Blue Jays.

While examining Tallet for his ribcage injury, doctors also discovered he was suffering from a kidney condition that delayed his recovery.

Tallet also missed 34 games with a broken hand sustained making a tumbling putout at first base on April 12.

The nine-year veteran, who also pitched for Toronto from 2006-10, went 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA in 18 games with St. Louis.
