Blue Jays' Hill out with tight hamstring

Published Apr. 8, 2010 7:31 p.m. ET

The Toronto Blue Jays have scratched second baseman Aaron Hill from the lineup for their game against the Texas Rangers.

The Blue Jays said Thursday that Hill has a tight right hamstring. Rookie Mike McCoy started for Hill, who went 1 for 8 in Toronto's first two games.

Last year, Hill earned his first All-Star appearance, leading major-league second basemen with 36 homers and 107 RBIs.
