Blue Jays' Gibbons on trades: 'If he makes us better then you get him'
With the trade deadline quickly approaching, and with the Toronto Blue Jays right in the thick of it, don't be surprised if they make some big moves.
Manager John Gibbons acknowledged to the Toronto Sun Tuesday that the team is looking to add:
“If there’s any way you can improve it, that’s what we’re looking at. Whoever it might be, if he makes us better then you get him and you adjust off that, whether it’s bullpen or rotation or vice versa. I think every team is looking at that.
“Everybody has got to improve. If you think you’re in the hunt, you’ve got to improve.”
As the Toronto Sun points out, acquiring a starting pitcher could kill two birds with one stone as the Jays could move flamethrower Aaron Sanchez to the bullpen for the rest of the season.
