The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired right-hander Ryota Igarashi from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday for a player to be named and cash.

The 32-year-old Igarashi signed a minor league contract with Pittsburgh on Dec. 19. He was released by the New York Mets last October.

Igarashi had an 8.68 ERA in nine games with the Pirates during spring training.

He was 4-1 with one save and a 4.66 ERA in 45 relief appearances last year for the Mets.
