Back tightness keeps Brewers' Braun out of game

Published Sep. 16, 2015 7:41 p.m. ET

MILWAUKEE (AP) Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Ryan Braun has lower back tightness and was scratched from Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Braun, who had missed several games earlier this season with the same issue, is batting .291 and leads the team with 25 home runs and 84 RBIs.

He went 1 for 2 with two walks in Tuesday night's 3-1 loss to the Cardinals.

Domingo Santana replaced Braun in right. Santana and three other players were acquired from Houston on July 30 in a trade that sent outfielder Carlos Gomez and starting pitcher Mike Fiers to the Astros.
