Astros to honor fallen firefighters with patch

Published Jun. 3, 2013 5:59 p.m. ET

The Houston Astros will wear special patches during their next homestand to honor the four firefighters who were killed battling a motel and restaurant fire last week.

The Astros will wear the patches for their three game series against the Baltimore Orioles beginning Tuesday night. The patches are black with ''HFD'' written in white block letters on them.

More than a dozen other firefighters were hospitalized after Friday's blaze, the deadliest in the 118-year history of the department.

In addition to the patches, the Astros will give firefighters and their immediate family members free tickets to this week's games.
