Houston Astros outfielder George Springer was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list Wednesday after being evaluated a day after crashing into the wall making a spectacular catch.

Springer left Tuesday's game after making the catch for the last out of the seventh inning. Springer slowly came off the field under his own power and was replaced the next inning.

Springer is hitting .192 with four home runs and 12 RBI this season. Colby Rasmus replaced him in the lineup.

Houston will select the contract of outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Fresno, and he will join the club Thursday in Los Angeles where the Astros start a four-game series against the Angels. A corresponding move will be made Thursday.
