The Oakland Athletics have promoted pitcher Graham Godfrey from Triple-A and he was set to make his major league debut Friday night in a start against the Chicago White Sox.

The A's purchased the contract of the 26-year-old right-hander from Sacramento, where Godfrey was 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA.

The Athletics optioned left-handed reliever Bobby Cramer to Triple-A. He was 0-1 in five appearance, allowing only one earned run in 8 1-3 innings.

To make room for Godfrey on the 40-man roster, the Athletics outrighted third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff to Sacramento.
