Oakland Athletics right-hander A.J. Griffin appears to be entering the final stretch of his rehabilitation from a Tommy John operation (and an additional delay caused by shoulder soreness), as he'll begin a rehab stint with the Single-A Stockton Ports on Tuesday.
As Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reported, that means that barring any more setbacks, Griffin could (emphasis on 'could') be eligible to rejoin the A's on July 1st.
Griffin missed all of the 2014 season after undergoing a Tommy John procedure. From 2012-2013 with Oakland, Griffin posted a 21-11 record and a 3.60 ERA, spread out across 282 1/3 innings pitched and 47 starts.
