A's go old-school to combat internet/power outages at O.co Coliseum
The Oakland Athletics' much-maligned home, O.co Coliseum, gets a bad reputation for its occasional bouts with faulty plumbing - but an entirely different issue struck the facility on Thursday.
Before the A's finale with the Texas Rangers, the Coliseum was hit with power outages, negatively impacting internet usage for the press corps.
As a result, team Baseball Information Manager Mike Selleck celebrated 'Throwback Thursday' by typing out the Game Notes on a typewriter.
San Francisco Chronicle beat writer Susan Slusser pointed it out on Twitter:
Best part of internet outage at the Coliseum today: @MikeSelleck went old school with the game notes: typewriter.— Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) June 11, 2015
The outage also impacted other aspects of the day's events, too:
The Coliseum may have its issues, but this latest one presented a fun opportunity to revert back to how things used to be 'back in the day'.
