DENVER (AP) A person close to the negotiations says versatile outfielder Gerardo Parra has agreed to a three-year, $27.5 million deal with the Colorado Rockies.

The person confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because it has yet to be announced. The person says Colorado holds a club option for a fourth year at $12 million, but can buy out Parra for $1.5 million.

On his Instagram page, Parra said he was ''super excited to join the Rockies!'' The left-handed hitter joins a crowded outfield that includes Carlos Gonzalez, Corey Dickerson and Charlie Blackmon.

Parra hit .291 with 14 homers last season for Milwaukee and Baltimore, which obtained him in a trade deadline deal. Parra plays all three outfield positions and is a two-time Gold Glove winner.
