Tiger out of world top 10

Tiger Woods, still nursing a knee injury and his struggling game, fell out of the top 10 in the World Golf Ranking for the first time since the week before the 1997 Masters.

Woods dropped from No. 8 to No. 12 after a weekend off after The Players Championship, where he withdrew because of injury after a front-nine 42 in the opening round.

The top six spots in the rankings were unchanged from last week, though Englishman Luke Donald, who lost to fellow Brit Ian Poulter in Sunday's final of the World Match Play Championship in Spain, closed to within five-hundredths of a point of No. 1 and fellow countryman Lee Westwood.

Two major movers were Masters champ Charl Schwartzel, who improved from No. 12 to No. 7, and Poulter, who rose to 14th from 22nd after keeping Donald out of the top spot.
