American Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin says Tiger Woods will be as strong as ever on the course when he comes back.

Woods is on the brink of divorce after admitting that he cheated on his wife and says he has decided to take an indefinite break from the game to try and save his marriage,

Speaking in London, where he became the first non-European to receive the British Professional Golfers' Association annual recognition award for services to golf, Pavin said Friday he was shocked by what had happened to the world's No. 1 player but was confident he would be back.

He said that "Tiger's obviously a very strong-minded individual and I don't think he will play any differently when he comes back."
