Much of the discussion surrounding the U.S. Open dealt with how difficult the greens were at Chambers Bay, but Rory McIlroy didn’t have much trouble with the 13th green on Sunday.
McIlroy drained an insane 72-foot putt that pulled him to within two of the leaders. It was easily the best putt we saw over a weekend in which putts were missed from inside of six feet with regularity.

When you look at the perfect putt Darren Clarke hit on Friday that somehow didn’t go in the hole, it’s hard to believe McIlroy was able to sink a putt like that. I guess that’s why he’s ranked No. 1 in the world.
