A rib injury has kept Rory McIlroy on the shelf since his last appearance in mid-January, but he's planning to return to golf in two weeks at the WGC-Mexico Championships. Over the weekend, McIlroy played a tuneup round with President Donald Trump in Florida.

McIlroy told No Laying Up that he didn't intend to start playing so soon, but he got the invitation on Saturday night and decided to join President Trump at the Trump International Golf Club.

Via No Laying Up:

"'He probably shot around 80. He’s a decent player for a guy in his 70’s!'

.... McIlroy also said that he played off the forward tees but did hit some drivers, and that TrackMan was telling him that his swing was nearly at full speed."
