Rickie Fowler is "OK" after he and a friend were involved in a car accident Tuesday evening.
Fowler first tweeted the news at 12:30 Wednesday morning, saying: "Friends...a buddy of mine and I were in an accident today...thankful we are both ok!"
According to Golf Channel's Steve Sands, Fowler was driving near his home in Jupiter, Fla., early Tuesday evening when the accident occurred. He was treated at JFK Medical for minor cuts and abrasions on his forehead and released Tuesday night. The passenger was also treated at the hospital, but was released with no injuries.
Fowler, who is not in the field this week at the Greenbrier Classic, tied for second at the U.S. Open in his last PGA Tour start.
