PGA Championship Glance
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (AP) A brief look at the final round Sunday of the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club:
WINNER: Jimmy Walker who closed with a bogey-free, 3-under-par 67 for a 14-under 266 total.
RUNNER-UP: Defending champion Jason Day who shot a 3-under 67 for a 267 total.
SHOT OF THE DAY: Walker made a 3-foot par putt for the win just minutes after Day had an eagle 3 on the closing hole to get within one shot.
SURPRISE OF THE DAY: The tournament was completed on Sunday. Ten players never hit a shot Saturday and 37 others had to return to finish their third round. All 72 holes were completed with darkness not far away.
GOING TO AUGUSTA: Daniel Summerhays, who had a 66 to finish third alone, will get an invitation to the 2017 Masters for finishing in the top four.
NOTEWORTHY: Walker became the fourth first-time major champion this year joining Danny Willett (Masters), Dustin Johnson (U.S. Open) and Henrik Stenson (British Open). It was the first that happened since 2011.
QUOTEWORTY: ''Ended up having to make a little, you know, tester coming in and just buried it. It was awesome,'' Walker on his winning putt.
NEXT YEAR: The 99th PGA Championship will be held at Quail Hollow.
